Notice of Interest: BSA is seeking interested contractors capable of performing the work describled below and interested in receiving the forthcoming solicitation. The formal solicitation will be issued at a later date and will also be posted on SAM.gov at that time. Note that switchgear and transformers are being provided to the contractor as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). Interested contractors are invited to submit a statement of interest along with a capabilities statement to BSA's Contract Specialist, Megan Howard, at [email protected]. Please include your Sam.gov Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). Project Description: The Physics Building was constructed in 1962 and much of the electrical system, original to the building, is beyond its useful life. These systems are also not compliant with current building codes, contain hazardous materials and need complete upgrades. The existing protective devices may not operate as specified, increasing the potential for arc-flash hazards and system damaging electrical faults. Repairs are cost prohibitive and may lead to extended unplanned outages in this mission critical facility. The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials (except as noted below), equipment, and services necessary for complete removal and upgrading of the existing Building 510 electrical substation equipment that feeds the newly replaced electrical distribution switchgear.
